Looking back at these photos I remember the ageless chinese medicine doctor, the blue fluorescent lights, the heat, the hundreds type of different smells, burning candles, scents, the kindness of the
people that have surrounded me for 10 days in Ho Chi Minh and Hoi An. A travel to Vietnam is a travel
to a fantastic world, if one opens his heart to it. Fewer places have I felt so welcomed in, so safe in
wandering the streets and making friends out of complete strangers. I remmeber the square blocks
of District 5 and the curious faces looking from behind the green, yellow, red, orange, light blue,
and purple painted windows. People welcome me in their homes and for some minutes I become
part of their life, drinking tea, watching, photographing. Vietnam has certainly affected the way I look
at people and places. I can only hope to go back soon.
